Description of the webinar „Health Impacts of Fracking on Neonatal Outcomes“:

„Unconventional oil and gas development (UOGD, commonly known as “fracking”) is an industrial process for mining fossil fuels. The technique involves pumping water mixed with chemicals down drilled wells under high pressure to release oil and gas, and is now widely used in many parts of the world. The presentation will review the published epidemiological evidence on neonatal outcomes for mothers and infants exposed to UOGD and describe results of a prospective biomonitoring study in a cohort of pregnant women living nearby this industry in Northeast British Columbia, Canada.“
